The Indian Ocean Defence & Security (IODS) 2026 Conference and Exhibition is a three-day, industry-only trade exposition. 

The event is reserved for those with a professional, defence, governmental agency, business, academic, scientific, operational or response involvement in defence related government and industry sectors.

Cost 

Trade Visitors receive free access to IODS 2026 exhibition across all three days of the event, as well as to any complimentary conferences for which you express interest, noting that entry is subject to room capacities and cannot be guaranteed on the day.

Optional paid conferences incur a charge at time of registration. 

Terms and Conditions 

  • The event is not open to the general public. 
  • Valid photo ID is mandatory as part of the Trade Visitor registration process and must be carried at all times while at the event. 
  • No person under the age of 16 years will be admitted to Indian Ocean Defence & Security (IODS) 2026
  • A dress code applies - applicable business attire or uniform is required. 
  • The selection of Complimentary Conference sessions is by Expression of Interest. Due to room capacities, attendees are seated on a first come, first served basis.
  • Conditions of Entry apply to all Trade Visitors

Cost 

Defence personnel with current Defence ID qualify for free access to the IODS 2026 exhibition across all three days of the event, as well as to any complimentary conferences for which you express interest, noting that entry is subject to room capacities and cannot be guaranteed on the day.

Exhibitor Badges are valid for the duration of the event and give access during the designated exhibitor Move In/Move Out.

The IODS 2026 Defence & Industry Dinner in collaboration with The Better Together Ball 2026 will be held on the evening on Thursday 28 May at the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre and is presented by Defence West and AMDA Foundation Limited in collaboration with RSL WA, Legacy WA and Police Legacy WA.

This gala event is an opportunity to network with senior representatives from defence, industry and government while supporting Western Australian veterans and their families.

Experience an evening of gourmet dining, conversation and entertainment all while helping to fundraise for an important cause.

To purchase your tickets: 

  1. Select the number of tickets/tables you wish to purchase. 
  2. Enter your details. 
  3. Complete payment. 
  4. Following your purchase, you will receive an email with links to register each of your individual tickets.  
  5. Tickets will be sent one week before the event to the email address provided in the ticket registration.

Indian Ocean Defence & Security (IODS) 2026 will combine an expert conference, international industry exhibition and networking opportunities to create a platform for engagement between defence, industry and government. 

The event is not open to the general public

The allocation and retention of media accreditation is at the absolute discretion of the organisers, who may decline an application even where all accreditation criteria are met and may withdraw accreditation at any time for media conduct organisers consider unprofessional. All media accreditation applicants are subject to Conditions of Application and the event’s Media Policy.

As accredited media at IODS 2026 you will have access to:

  • The industry exhibition during the advertised visitor open hours
  • Networking events conducted on the exhibition floor
  • The Media Centre
  • Conferences, as and when allowed by the individual conference convenor.

How Do I Apply For Media Accreditation?

  • Step 1: Fill in your details;
  • Step 2: If you are a freelancer, upload a letter of commission from the publication you will represent at IODS 2026. Uncommissioned freelancers will not be granted media accreditation;
  • Step 3: Submit your application.

Applications for media accreditation will be assessed by the IODS 2026 media team according to the Conditions of Application.

  • You will be notified by email on receipt of your submission.
  • You will be notified if your application has been approved within 10 working days of submission.
  • Successful applicants will receive a Print at Home media badge via email within the two weeks prior to the start of the event.

Who can attend & Onsite Information 

  • Students must be in Year 7 or higher.
  • All students on a school excursion must wear uniform. 
  • Students must be accompanied by school supervisors - who are responsible for student behaviour.
  • Advanced learning students including TAFE and University Welcome.
  • Food and beverages available.
    • An appropriate amount of cash/card is recommended.
    • Please secure all loose items and place rubbish in bins provided.

You have been invited to complete the Indian Ocean Defence & Security 2026 Contractor Accreditation process to gain a Digital Contractor Badge.

To complete this process, you will need to provide the following information:

  • Photographic ID (such as drivers licence, passport)
    • Please note – It must include a photo or it will not be accepted)

IMPORTANT: You will not be permitted into Indian Ocean Defence & Security without a Digital Contractor Badge.
